i went to houhai tonight! it was so cool!
its like the clarke quay of beijing. but even cooler. its located beside a lake, on the outskirts of a hutong. so you have all these cool bars housed inside old chinese architecture.
i really like the buzz of the place. my roommate julia and i went for some rou chuan (aka kebabs) which were pretty good. walked around for a while, checked out some stores which were SUPER COOL before heading to the bar BED.
it was located away from the busy houhai street, in some backstreet. apparently it was well known by word of mouth and it was crowded with expats. its called BED because we were sitting on the old chinese beds (thin mattress on raised cement floor)
we ordered a mojito each because it was supposedly pretty good. OMG i love beijing!
so today at work, had a meeting in the morning accompanied by free lunch again haha this time with free beer yay. i realized i liked yan jing pi jiu. tastes like corona hehe
climbing the great wall tomorrow. OH i got myself a mao cap today. hehehehe i'm going to take a picture with it on the great wall! yay
