got back from NSW 2 days ago. wasn't as fun as i expected.

but i definitely learnt alot. about myself and others.

i realised that there are people who are culturally curious and that are interested to talk to you.

i also realised, that no matter how hard you try sometimes its difficult to engage people who are averse to other cultures.

in the past year, i must admit that it has been really tough for me. especially in a place where there are few singaporeans, trying to bridge the gap between cultures has proved to be exceptionately challenging.

i think that i can quite confidently say that i've put myself out there to the max and really tried my best to make friends with others.

this has worked in some instances, and i'm definitely thankful and happpy that i've made a bunch of close friends over here.

yet, in many cases, i didn't really understand why there seemed to be this gulf between me and some people.

initially felt that it was because i wasn't in tuned to the american culture yet. however, i definitely don't think i want to convert myself into 100% american and lose my singaporean/asian identity.

that's why, after NSW i strongly felt that it was all a matter of mindset. the problem isn't with me, it is with others.

on a lighter note, moved into my new house on sat. really happy with it! :) just that there is a door in my WALK IN CLOSET (damn huge!) to the attic! damn creepy lar.

school's starting tomorrow. not really looking forward to it haha but oh well.

i really like my room! decorated it. buying my new desk from ikea soon :D
