alot of things on my mind, mainly non school work related stuff that is screwing up my life. haha ok maybe not to that extent but just making me stressed out. :(
1. housing
shan't explain it now cause i haven't got the time and its a long story to share
2. sublease
need to sublease my apt for summer cause i wont be here. :(
the root of all my problems is money.
and so last night as i was tossing and turning in bed devising ways to tackle my problems, i realised that the chinese in Singapore are like the whites in the US.
i realised that 19 years of growing up in a multicultural environment has ill prepared me for the US, because of the simple fact that i was part of the majority in Singapore and here I am not. feeling like a minority is certainly weird, especially for the first semester. come to think of it, i don't think i care much about that now. haha the heck care attitude might be good in some ways, but my academics are definitely suffering (ok not to that extent) cause of it.
becoming part of the minority is an interesting experience i swear. makes me, at least, more aware of how people feel, especially minority groups in singapore (haha ANUJA! :) ) need to talk to her soon to understand how she feels so that i can learn from her experiences. sounds really cliche/weird but that's how i feel.
interesting how coming to the US made me survey the social, economic and political climate with a breath of fresh air. i hope the minnesotan air stays with me. :))) and that everyday will be spring ! hee hee
