theres something wrong with my com. cant seem to post msgs on blogger somehow.

in any case,

cny ended with a bang for me. hit the curb and the tire somehow was destroyed and the car couldn't turn left. could only go straight or right.

but let me first set the record straight: i wasn't the one driving.

so there we were after having a fantastic dinner at joan's parents' friend's place, and ready to go home and conk out. so joan had to walk back to their house, about 5 mins walk, and i stayed in thecar. i can tell u that it's freaking scary to be alone in a car, in a quiet place, with like 3 inches of snow around you with the temperature bordering around 20 F.

like what the hell.

CNY morning turned out to be pretty bleak, with the weather suddenly turning cold and snowing the night before. so the whole sky was white. the ground too.

where's my beloved san francisco!?!

oh yar. did i care to mention that i woke up bright and early to welcome the new year:? at 630 am to be exact. cause gladys (we stayed over at glady's place) was vomiting since 6 am (must be the steamboat from the previous night) and felt pretty horrible. fantastic start to a new year, which of course no one would have wanted it to turn out this way.

IN ANY CASE, joan drove me back to my apt to get chinese medicine for her which of course worked wonders. stopped the vomitting.

so now, it was time for me to mug.

spent the entire morning on french. going to tear my hair out liao. learning about food in this chapter, and yar i know it'll come in useful at french restaurants where i can act sei and pronounce everything correctly, there's a hell lot of vocab to learn.

:S

decided to call my friends and wish them happy cny after i was too bored with french

lunch came and went and i was still stuck with french. right. switching to studying materials balances wasn't exactly a great idea since i equally didn't make much progress on that.

dinner was great. had chicken rice, abalone with fa cai and mushrooms, egg and pork. apple pie too! :)

auntie carol is a really nice person. i like her a lot :)

oh well.

my first CNY in US and it is pretty unforgettable. ended with a bang and you know what, it couldn't have been any more exciting or thought provoking.

i think human nature's just so complex that trying to figure it out gives me a bad headache.

i've concluded that humans are irrational creatures, more suited for making stupid decisions than wise ones, and an ungrateful lot at that.

new year resolutions:

spend less time bitching about life and spend more time living life and changing it in a positive manner :) be more people centred then self centred. this sem's going to be real tough for me. hope i'll survive! :)

and then sometimes i wonder what's the big deal about getting a college degree. i've met 2 pple that dont have college degrees and are big shots in the international scene. it is so amazing seriously, how sometimes life lessons count more than one's gpa.
