was reading mich's blog, and i realised that
1. i really want to go to london
2. she really has a lot of photos
3. all her photos have her!
hahaha its kind of weird how our blogs differ alot. my pictures mostly are w/o me, and now that my camera's screwed, there'll be really very little photos in the PIPELINE (fav word of edbians muahahhaha)
yar anyway met up with mun yew lawrence and joon woon the other day. fantastic to meet them , but was grilled over dinner on the pple in edb (think "who is the cutest guy in edb/who do u like in edb")
oh man. hahaha
yar having math and bio midterms on tuesday and wednesday :(
just made dumplings just now! i'm so proud of myself! claire and stefanie said they tasted gd hehehehe
its funny how being homesick hits pple in different ways: for some its endless nights of sobbing and crying, for some it never comes. for me, its just a dull throbbing ache at the back of my mind.
damn. i really miss my class. and my family too. and all the other friends i've got back in singapore.
read a ST forum letter or something the other day, where one freshmen at NUS (law) commented that he was glad he stayed in singapore so he won't have to handle all the homesickness and all that.
gd for him.
but seriously, given a chance again, i would still have chosen this path i undertook months ago. i guess its only when u are thrown out into the deep end that you really start to observe, reflect and think about the events around you.
yar the gd stuff is that i get to travel and stuff and meet new pple and see new things.
but seriously, its tough. it is tough. every day is a battle of sorts, where you have to think about what you say, how you say it, who you say it to so that you'll somehow blend in with the rest of the pple.
i mean hey, i could easily put on an american accent and talk about fluffy stuff that somehow makes up most of the conversation i've heard so far.
but i guess after 9 weeks observing and trying, i realised i still haven't found my niche in this new community i am in. and i also realised that i still want to retain who i am, the asian/singaporean part of me in this vastly different culture. i could go drinking and partying and be with the in crowd, but what's the pt of that?
i guess what i'm looking for are pple that share my views and concerns, and seriously, pple who give a damn about the world around them and who aren't so absorbed by their own self.
i want to be able to go to class and say, "hey did u hear abt the earthquake that hit pakistan?"
AND so my conclusion, i'm gg to take global politics next semester. :)
and you know what, i think (ihope) that one thing i would really want to learn/pick up after 3 yrs of undergrad is the ability to relate to anyone and everyone. yes, anyone AND everyone. :)
from the shuai ges walking past me on the streets to the old ladies strolling around the city, i want to relate to them, each and everyone of them (the shuai ges are obviously the much preferred ones haha) (i AM joking abt the shuai ges i must say)
GAMBATE!
